Game Description
Matsuri is a Japanese festival, so there’s got to be a lot on offer here to celebrate. The slot from Play’n GO is a feast for the eyes, set in a backdrop of a lake with mountains illuminated by the lights of the distant festivities. The reels are separated by a dash of neon pink light and the symbols are characterised by all that is Japanese in terms of snack, drinks, bouquets, and fans, and three different maidens holding a mask, a fan, and a candy apple. The graphics are exquisite, nicely detailed and the animation within the symbols are minor but effective.
Technical Characteristics
The Matsuri game comes with 25 ways to win and plays across a 3x5 grid, the RTP stands at 96.17%, with bets ranging from 0.25, increasing to 100 in real money. The game is not available to play with virtual coins, but we’re here to make money anyway. The spin of the reels are incredibly fast and short, unusual for Play’n GO gaming but we’ll take it. During the spins you’ll see animation play out, tiny lights will rise from the ground and float into the night sky and in the distant, shooting start will flash by. It may sound odd to say but there is a lot of light and colour to this game, a huge eye-pleasing set up by Play’n GO.
Bonuses and Rewards
There are a few key features to look out for in this game. Landing 3 of the festival mask symbols rewards you 8 free spins, any additional masks which land during the free spin offers you 2 more spins and a total of 20 can be re-triggered during the round. There is a total payout in this round and it sits at a heavy 300,000. The Matsuri Festival bonus is also part and parcel of the free spins round, if a wild lantern symbol falls onto the reel, it will majestically transform into a massive Lamp Banner that covers the entire reel, the banner will then move across the reels for each remaining spin.
The main bonus mode is called Kingyo Sukui, during the game you will have noticed the two goldfish symbol. 3 of these fish symbols will trigger the main round and you’ll be transported away to the festival to play at the fish catching game. With a paper spoon, you are challenged to select the fish and catch them before the spoon breaks, no doubt a task which requires collecting all 5 fish in a correct sequence. Succeed and you will be rewarded with a multiplier of up to 500 times your bet stake prior to the round opening.
Play’n GO are usually a hit or miss developer, some games are great, the others really don’t seem to pass the test. This Matsuri is a good game and can happily join the few to claim that honour within the Play’n GO library of slot machines. Definitely worth a play and can be found in the following casinos: 7 Red, Bet365, Tropezia, Casumo Casino, Euroslots, Guts Casino and Cherry Casino.
