Game Description
El Dorado is Spanish for the ‘Golden One’ and was the name given to an ancient tribal chief from Colombia. The chief was noted for covering himself in gold dust during various tribal rituals of the day. The legend of El Dorado has mutated and grown over time, from the golden king to a golden city, a golden kingdom and then finally to an empire made of gold. Throughout history explorers and adventurers have searched for this mythical city of gold, with even the infamous Spanish Conquistadors combing the jungles of Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela in search of its treasures. By the 19th Century many had already doubted its existence and written it off as a myth.
The gaming boffins at Microgaming however have brought the legend right back into the current century with Jungle Jim El Dorado, a video slot set in the deepest jungles of South America, where you help our fearless adventurer Jungle Jim search for the legend that is El Dorado and hopefully take home all its treasures. This video slot features gorgeous 3D graphics that pay homage to the idea of ‘Jungle Jim’, a character that features throughout pop culture as the ever intrepid explorer and no doubt the inspiration behind movie characters such as Indiana Jones, Lara Croft plus countless video games over the last 20 years. This marriage of 2 different ‘legends’ is set to be a blockbuster of its own making, with some excellent design and fun features from Microgaming amplifying the entertainment factor throughout the game.
Technical Characteristics
Jungle Jim El Dorado is based in a world of adventure and mystery. The reels are set upon a classic Lost City style backdrop, with animated characters and game symbols designed to fit the overall theme. The featured graphics and sound FX are excellent and really pull you into the game, immersing you in the story and setting. The 3D video slot icons are cleverly designed and compliment the explorer/adventure theme, such as precious stones, Mayan style calendars, chests of gold and different ancient artefacts.
The game is played across 5 reels with 3 lines and a possible 25 paylines in total. Microgaming’s easy to use UI has been integrated into this game and you can control your betting amounts and the auto spin feature straight as well as check the pay tables and game information such as symbol values directly from the main game screen. There is also a multiplier bar in the top right of the screen to help you keep track of the multiplier level during the bonus games that use this feature.
Bonuses and Rewards
Jungle Jim by Microgaming has many features waiting to be discovered. During the main part of the game there a 2 important symbols to keep an eye out for, the scatter symbol and the wild symbol. The wild symbol is represented by the Jungle Jim logo and will substitute itself for all symbols except the scatter symbol, increasing your win chance. The scatter symbol is represented by a type of Mayan Calendar symbol. If this symbol lands on reels 1, 2 and 3 you enter the free spins round where you will get 10 free spins with the chance for them to be retriggered over and over during this mini game.
The main bonus feature in Jungle Jim El Dorado is the Rolling Reels feature. You can activate this feature from both the main game and also from the free spins bonus round. During this bonus feature the game operates similar to a reactor style game (think Candy Crush or Jelly Splash), in which all winning icon lines explode giving way to new symbols to drop in and provide new winning combinations.
