Game Description
The Ra is back and the book has been re-published by Novomatic, in an all new glossy design. It’s a far step away from the now aged 2005 slot game which shook the online gambling world to the core. The Book Of Ra Deluxe still retains the same Egyptian theme and the exact same concept for the symbols. The book is more detailed in graphics, so you’re probably wondering why re-issue the game if all they have done is polished the edges and made it crisper to the eye. Well for one, because of the game of 2005 looked so old that in comparison to the games of recent time, it looks a bit off putting.
Technical Characteristics
The game’s comeback bring with it 2 new additional features, again it remains a 5 reel slot with 3 rows, but this time instead of 9 pay lines, Novomatic have added a 10th line. So this is a positive, nothing taken away, just added to increase the players chance of winning more money. The option for the pay lines are again down to you should you wish to go that high. The stake has also increased meaning you play with 1000 coins or 100 in real money. This is all that has really changed at the basic level of gameplay and function. The added high graphics doesn’t take anything away from the game, the whole engine still runs with a nostalgic feel, all they have done is put the game through the wash.
Bonuses and Rewards
The bonus expanding symbol has remained the same, you can relax. Even the same number of 10 free spins you collect, nothing has changed. Is this good, or a bad thing? Surely to class something a deluxe there needs to be something of grand luxury and not just alluding to the cleaned up graphics. I suppose the great ‘pay-off’ comes with the new symbol values.
The explorer, now more chiselled in looks, comes with a 75,000 multiplier when landing a 5 line win. Now add that to a 100 bet stake and you are looking at some very big money.
So the game has a few extra shimmers and sparkles and within the reels, it’s not much to cause mass complaint, we think Novomatic got it right, by keeping all the core functions the same, the feel of the game and what the 2005 version offered. It needed a polish so welcome back Book Of Ra, see you again for a dusting down in another six years.
